Carolina Beach Fishing Report June 2026

June 19, 2026

Fishing around Carolina Beach has provided plenty of opportunities lately, although some fisheries have been more consistent than others.

Spanish mackerel fishing has been somewhat unpredictable. On some days, schools of fish can be seen actively feeding and jumping throughout the area, yet getting them to commit to a bait has proven challenging. Other days have produced a handful of quality fish and steady action. Anglers targeting Spanish mackerel should remain flexible and be prepared to adjust techniques as conditions change.

Nearshore reef fishing continues to be one of the most reliable options. Black seabass, croakers, and porgys have been providing consistent action, making these trips a great choice for families and anglers looking to stay busy throughout the day. Sharks have also been plentiful around the reefs, adding excitement and the opportunity for larger catches.

Offshore trolling has produced solid results, particularly for king mackerel, and anglers have also encountered the occasional mahi-mahi. As water temperatures continue to rise, offshore trolling should remain productive throughout the summer.

Offshore bottom fishing has been outstanding. Anglers are finding excellent numbers of scamp grouper, gag grouper, vermilion snapper, pink snapper, grunts, and amberjack. Bottom fishing remains one of the best opportunities for anglers looking to bring home a variety of quality fish while also having the chance at larger trophy catches.

As always, weather conditions play a major role in determining where we can fish, but there have been plenty of opportunities to get on the water and put together a productive day.
